Haiku TV Review: Mad Men

Haiku #4 : Mad Men

the subtlest drama

drinking, smoking, sexist men

nothing else happens

Mad Men is a US TV series set in a fictional 1960s advertising agency on Madison Avenue. It aired in 2007 and is scheduled to conclude with Season 7 in 2015. It’s the most smoking you will ever see in one straight hour of TV time, and contains some very cleverly constructed sexism discourse, as well as the ways in which it can be – and partially was – slowly overcome. If you’re into a different kind of period drama and want to hear genuine references to ‘the bomb’, you should give Mad Men a watch. If you like action, well… it will have you nap in under 20 minutes.
